PRIMAL MIND: The Critical Role of Ancestral Nutrition in Neurological and Mental Health
Few would argue that diet plays an important role in the health and function of the human brain and nervous system. But official policies driven by decades of misinformation and disinformation have misled consumers and health advocates/practitioners alike, leading to profound confusion, poor mental/cognitive health outcomes and widespread neurological compromise. This presentation provides a plethora of new, clear and compelling scientific evidence for an improved functional and foundational basis of brain health that may best support neurological stability, mood, metabolism, neuroplasticity and healthy cognitive function into old age.
There is literally nothing that has a greater impact on the quality of anyone’s life than the quality of one’s brain health. As rates of mental illness, cognitive dysfunction and Alzheimer’s disease skyrocket (and IQ’s plummet), the ever-expanding DSM (the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders) has brought us no closer to identifying or truly understanding the root causes of brain dysfunction, nor has it brought us any closer to meaningful solutions. But very real solutions abound if you know where and how to look. In this day-long journey of discovery attendees will learn to connect new dots and meaningfully examine key evidence from humanity’s evolutionary past and human longevity research while taking our uniquely challenging modern world into account to arrive at the optimization of our Primal Mind.
In this entertaining and information-packed two-day seminar, Nora will address the following topics:
DAY 1: (13 October 2018 - 10:00am to 4:00pm)Special Guest: Dr Aristo Vojdani, PhD., MSc, CLS
5 CPD Hours
What were the selective pressures that serve to make us uniquely human (and why this matters now, more than ever)
What are the limiting factors in peak neurological functioning and how to effectively address them
Fat (free fatty acids/ketones) versus sugar (glucose) as a primary source of metabolic brain fuel
Examining the brain benefits vs risks of full time functional ketosis
The roles of cholesterol in mood, cognitive and brain health
Are plant-based diets the answer to brain health?
Identifying blood sugar issues (and what to do about it)?
The myth of the mind-body connection
The connection between gut and brain and why probiotics may not be the answer

Autoimmunity and brain health
The role of food sensitivities in making or breaking brain/cognitive/mental/emotional health
The role of sleep in making or breaking brain/cognitive/mental/emotional health
Understanding depression: what it is and what it isn’t (hint: it’s not a neurotransmitter deficiency)
How to effectively combat the growing epidemic of neurodegeneration/dementia and cultivate an ageless mind
The supportive role of neurofeedback in transforming and better optimizing the human brain
Who Should Attend?

Guest Speaker (Day 1): Dr Aristo Vojdani, PhD., MSc, CLS is a multiple award winning immunologic research scientist and multiple immunoassay patent-holding Professor of Neuroimmunology, head and founder of Immunosciences Lab and Chief Scientist for Cyrex Labs. Dr. Vojdani has been called the Father of Functional Immunology.
Dr Vojdani will be covering the following topics:
Autoimmunity is the failure of the body to recognize its own constituent parts as self, which results in an immune response against its own cells and tissues, including the brain.
Environmental factors are the major initiators first of antibody production, then of neuroautoimmunities.
Brain-reactive antibodies can appear in the blood many years before the signs and symptoms of neuroautoimmunities.
Predictive antibodies made against food, toxic chemicals and infections can thus be measured for the early detection ofneuroautoimmunity.
If left undetected and untreated, the result can be years of suffering from devastating disorders such as multiple sclerosis, neuromyelitis optica, and Alzheimers’ disease.
Guest Speaker (Day 2): Stuart Black, BSc (Eng) MSc CEng MIET has spent his life breaking the mold. From giving his school class talks on electronics as a 10 year old to reverse engineering the Sea Harrier’s weapon system. Slashing product development times by 66%, transforming customer relationships from contract termination to preferred supplier. Leading the development of the UK’s most advanced private hospital. He is recognised as an original thinker, strategist and relationship builder who challenges conventional thinking.
He has recently turned his attention to the applied neuroscience of the electroencephalogram (EEG), and established the UK’s leading practice using this ground-breaking technology to change hundreds of people’s lives.
Stuart is a Chartered Engineer with 30 years experience with blue chip organisations including BAE SYSTEMS, General Dynamics, Bupa, Centrica.
Stuart Black will be covering the following topics:
The field of the applied neuroscience of the EEG challenges conventional thinking. It promises a revolution in the treatment of neurological issues and mental health disorders. New possibilities for the potential of our individual and collective human brains.
We can already enable paraplegics to walk with exoskeletons using EEG. Advanced analysis techniques can identify pathological neuromarkers from our brainwaves.
In this tour of the field get answers to the difficult questions – what is it?, what can we learn from the EEG? how can feedback change the brain? how does it work?, what’s the evidence?, why haven’t I heard of it?, how do you know it’s not placebo?
Learn about the potential of the technology, together with the limitations of current approaches.
Hear a compelling vision of the future, transforming billions of lives and shifting human consciousness to new levels.
