Post-Pandemic PERFORMER SHOWCASE
Cafe Sans Souci
240 Front St, Belleville, ON K8N 2Z2, Canada
Two years of pandemic have hurt the musical community in our region, across our country and around the world. Our response is to create this showcase concert series - designed to re-introduce some of the area's outstanding musical performers to a post-pandemic audience.
We'll be working to present our showcase performers in the best way possible with extended 30-minute sets on a proper stage with pro sound and lights. Our goal is to help all our acts put their best foot forward. We're all in this together, after all.
This month we're presenting three acts that - even after years of lockdown - are unforgettable. Expect the unexpected from 17-year old singer songwriter Isaiah Flagler, the smart and funny songs of Ron Marshall and a set of original songs from Belleville's own Tim Hunt. Please join us for this amazing show.
Isaiah Flagler is from Belleville, Ontario. He’s 17 years old - and his favourite band is the Pixies. Isaiah was inspired to start performing by David Bowie. He believes that music is the greatest escape.
Ron Marshall is a singer/songwriter who lives in the woods outside of Havelock, Ontario and claims to have no musical direction whatsoever. He writes about whatever rattles around in his empty head for a long enough time. This means you’ll hear songs about kissing neighbours, how the right car can get you into heaven, renegade mothers, hobos, danger on horseback, and more. You’ll also share Ron’s laughter at some of the circumstances surrounding the songs and other music in his life.
Tim Hunt is a Belleville born and raised singer, songwriter, producer and veteran performer who captivates audiences with his heartfelt songs, wonderful stories and powerful stage presence.
Tim rose to prominence locally with his tribute to Neil Diamond as The Solitary Man - and as co-founder of Musicians For Hope. He began writing in 1981, but really found his footing when he teamed up with local legend Andy Forgie in 1987 to write and record original material. Tim’s career took another giant leap forward when another local legend, Timothy Campbell became his producer and mentor. Tim & Timothy have continued working together on countless projects for the last 35 years and look to continue well into the future.
Tim has been a tremendous and passionate supporter of local musicians and charities, giving of his talent and time whenever it’s needed - and he's come to anchor our Performers Showcase with an extremely rare all original set of songs in a setting resembling his Facebook series A Story & A Song.
