Description
PlaceSetting is a new, roaming supperclub from the minds of Courtney Nichols (Disco Dining Club) and Gabriel Cappelli (formerly of The Edmon, Saint Martha, & The Dressing Room). Each event takes place at a private location, with the menu, cocktails, and performances influenced by the era and history of that residence. PlaceSetting explores the evolution of the dinner party, in the homes and at the tables of dinner parties past.
...because a home is only as colorful as the people & parties it once hosted.
PlaceSetting's inaugural dinner will take place Thursday, July 13th at 7:30pm.
A little about the location: a mid-century modern home in the West Los Angeles neighborhood of Westdale. The house was acquired in 1947, the same year that the neighborhood was built on former citrus orchards. In fact, a couple orange trees from those orchards still thrive in the backyard. The home has since been passed down to the granddaughter of the original owner, who continues to utilize the original appliances in the kitchen, display the JFK memorabilia from the back shed, and cherish the burnt orange shag carpet throughout the living room. On July 13th you will delight in tales about the original owner, as you feast on a menu representative of a dinner that would have been served in '47 (with a handful of modern touches).
Please bring cash for tips. Sadly we cannot accommodate dietary restrictions.
Note that all sales are final - no returns or exchanges. The dinner will be served outside and on grass. Please dress appropriately. And as always, please Uber/Lyft. The address will be released upon ticket purchase.
