PANS PANDAS UK are pleased to announce the UK's first official PANS PANDAS Conference introducing expert speakers from the US as well as highly regarded specialists from the UK.
Speakers at this conference will address the diagnostic criteria, treatment options and aetiological processes involved in PANS and PANDAS.
We welcome both international and UK specialists and invite you to develop your awareness, knowledge and skills regarding this highly complex clinical neuro-psychiatric presentation in children and more recently adults.
Confirmed speakers and presentation title: (in order of presentation):
Timothy Bouman: An adult with PANS will present A Patient's Perspective
Dr Susan Swedo: Principal Investigator for the Paediatrics and Developmental Neuroscience Branch at the National Institute of Mental Health will present a formulation of diagnosis: A clear outline of diagnostic process with differentials, investigations and clinical diagnosis.
Dr Kyle Williams: Director of the Paediatric Neuropsychiatry and Immunology Program in the OCD and Related Disorders Program at Massachusetts General Hospital, and Instructor in Psychiatry at Harvard Medical School will present PANDAS - An inflammatory hypothesis for paediatric neuro-psychiatric symptoms.
Professor Jennifer Frankovich: Associate Professor, Paediatric Rheumatology, Stanford Children's Hospital will present PANS - A Rheumatologist's Perspective. A brief overview of clinic patients including PANS symptoms, concurrent/co-morbid conditions, immune markers, biorepository and basic science collaborations and preliminary treatment results.
Dr Ming Lim: Consultant Children's Neurologist at Evelina London Children's Hospital will present PANS - Clinical, radiological and investigative comparisons to Autoimmune Encephalitis.
Dr Tim Ubhi: Consultant NHS Paediatrician and Clinical Director of the Children's e-Hospital will present PANS and PANDAS - A Paediatrician's Perspective
Professor Rajat Gupta: Consultant Paediatric Neurologist and Lead at the Paediatric Neuro-rehabilitation Service at Birmingham Children's Hospital will present Case Studies of Eating Disorders in PANS and PANDAS.
Dr Andrew Curran: Consultant Paediatric Neurologist at Alder Hey Children's Hospital will narrate a case study and moderate a multi-disciplinary team panel discussion
regarding management of PANS and PANDAS.
ANP Amy Joy Smith: Nurse Practitioner at Open Medicine Institute, California will present PANS and PANDAS - What I have learned and seen in practice.
