My City My Six Writing Workshop + SA Creates: Bookmaking Workshop
Thomson Memorial Park, 1007 Brimley Rd, Scarborough, ON M1P 3E8, Canada
Capture and write your experience of Scarborough using six words at the My City My Six workshop!
Afterwards, discover the various ways of binding your own books using minimal materials and tools at a bookmaking workshop with artist and graphic designer Elyssia Lasala. Using a needle and thread, participants will be introduced to different bookmaking techniques such as: the coptic stitch, saddle stitch, and stab book binding. Participants will also gain insight on when to use one technique over another. Participants will leave with their own handmade books, and the knowledge to create books using sustainable materials that can be recycled or composted as alternatives to chemical adhesives.
