Mushroom Foraging Online Program
This is a virtual trip, watch from home or infield
Vancouver, BC, Canada
You're invited to join Chef Robin Kort on a virtual mushroom foraging trip.
Learn how to safely identify and collect mushrooms in the Pacific Northwest
We'll start with learning about poisonous mushrooms, and then, how, when and where to find culinary mushrooms like chanterelles, porcini and one of the most expensive mushrooms on the globe, the prized matsutake. Learn the trade secrets of commercial mushroom pickers and mycologists in finding 25 important Pacific Northwest fungi through their habitats and seasons. This program is good for beginners and more advanced fungiphiles, we'll cover the basics and more obscure mushrooms like saffron milk caps and prince mushrooms. It's a zoo out there right now, so it's important that people be respectful foragers inside and outside, not take more than they need and learn about alternative ways to sustain yourself. This program is a fun way to help us all to look forward to a rainy fall and spring.
Chef Robin has been teaching wild foraging classes for over a decade and has a wonderful group of mycologists and biologists on her team to help you learn.
