Shifting deadlines, cultural safety and artistic vulnerability are just some of the challenges faced by theatre makers. All of these challenges can impact your ability to be 'in the moment', and producing your best work. Perfect for theatre makers, performing artists, and independent artists, this workshop will explore:
What it means to be ‘in the zone’
How mindfulness can help when we’re tired or flat
Self-care while working in creative environments
The benefits of mindful listening
The workshop will be facilitated by mindfulness educator, Coco Nkrumah.
Coco has been involved with mindfulness and meditation for more than 10 years. His training began with Chinese Taoist meditation, and Coco has a passion for learning the various cultural backgrounds of mindfulness meditation. He is actively involved in other disciplines such as Japanese Zen Buddhism and Indian Advaita, as well as western psychological mindfulness practices such as MICBT (mindfulness integrated cognitive behavioral therapy) and MBSR (mindfulness based stress reduction). Coco also became a certified Kung Fu instructor at the age of 22, and is a certified sports coach.
