About Brad:
Night Ranger was formed in 1980, and two years later after awarded instant success from radio airplay and a dozen MTV hit videos, began touring the world with Kiss, ZZ Top, Journey, Def Leppard and many others. After the 1984 release of their smash hit Sister Christian, the boys gained headline status. “I’m sure we played every Coliseum in the USA throughout the Eighties”, Brad continues. Armed with an impressive collection of vintage guitars and amps, Brad enjoys double duty crafting music for television these days, in addition to his ongoing career with Night Ranger. While he still records and tours Japan, Europe and the US with Night Ranger, his broadcast music gig has become his “regular” job. Brad has placed over 400 Music-Tracks with ESPN, Fox Sports, EA Sports Video-Games, feature Movies, and Radio-Spots. “I just love being in my studio, and recording music all day,” Brad explains. “I’ve been very lucky to have the luxury of playing music my entire career.”
Even the most casual guitar fan is most likely familiar with the playing of Brad Gillis. As the founding lead guitarist in Night Ranger, Brad brought shredding, virtuoso soloing to the masses via a string of hits like Don’t Tell Me You Love Me, (You Can Still) Rock in America, and Sister Christian, that were equally embraced by album-oriented FM stations, Top 40 radio, and MTV. With over 18 million units sold, Night Ranger’s music has also featured prominently in dozens of films, from The Secret of my Success, Sixteen Candles, Rock of Ages, and Friday The Thirteenth, to the chilling, climatic scene in Boogie Nights. Brad is also well known for capably filling the shoes of the deceased Randy Rhoads while on tour with Ozzy Osbourne in 1982, along with his stunning renditions of Black Sabbath classics on Ozzy’s live Speak of the Devil album. He also worked with the late Gregg Allman, having the top 20 hit Honest to God from Brad’s Gilrock Ranch solo CD.
