Raise Your Voice Concert Series – Paris, Ontario
Presented by Noisemaker Presents & National Arts Centre
Once in a red moon, an artist emerges on the scene as if fully formed. Born on the Six Nations Reserve and raised in the town of Brantford, Ontario - Logan Staats started writing and performing music in his early teens.
From a young age, Logan’s haunting and distinct voice has won him multiple opportunities to share the stage with acts like Buffy Sainte-Marie and Mumford and Sons, to name a few.
Logan is fresh off his win on The Launch, a TV show that gives Canadian singers a shot at stardom. Staats was chosen out of 10,000 applicants to be featured on the inaugural season of the series and was mentored by Canadian country megastar Shania Twain. Logan performed his song “The Lucky Ones” which topped the charts as the number one song in Canada the day after the release.
$1 from every ticket sold will be donated to the Woodland Cultural Centre in Brantford, Ontario.
The Woodland Cultural Centre is a First Nations Educationaland Cultural Centre. Located on thegrounds of the former Mohawk Institute Residential School, the Centre was established in 1972to protect, promote, interpret, and present the culture of the Anishinaabe and Ongwehon:weh.The Centre provides a comprehensive and community-centred facility where the communityand visitors can research, reaffirm, and celebrate Indigenous cultures, languages, histories, artand values. The Centre is also a multi-disciplinary artistic presenting organization, which curatestraditional and contemporary Indigenous performances and exhibitions.

Il arrive parfois, de façon exceptionnelle, qu’un artiste débarque sur la scène musicale comme s’il y avait toujours appartenu. Né sur la réserve Six Nations et élevé dans le village fantôme de Brantford, en Ontario, Logan Staats s’est mis à écrire et interpréter de la musique à l’adolescence.
Dès un jeune âge, Logan se distingue par sa voix mémorable qui lui vaut la chance de partager la scène avec des artistes comme Buffy Sainte-Marie et Mumford and Sons, pour ne nommer que ceux-là.
Logan vient tout juste de remporter l’émission The Launch, une émission télévisée où des artistes canadiens s’affrontent pour accéder à la gloire. Staats s’est démarqué parmi 10 000 candidatures pour figurer dans la première saison de la série et a bénéficié du mentorat de la vedette country canadienne Shania Twain. Logan y a interprété sa chanson The Lucky Ones, qui s’est hissée au sommet des palmarès canadiens le lendemain de sa parution.

Woodland Cultural Centre est un centre culturel et éducatif appartenant aux Premières Nations. Situé sur le terrain de l’ancien pensionnat autochtone Mohawk Institute, le centre mène la campagne de collecte de fonds Save the Evidence afin de restaurer le pensionnat autochtone et le transformer en site historique animé et ressource éducative.
