Lobby Series: Black History Music Celebration
Monday, Feb 26
7pm doors, 7:30 show
Free, but RSVP. Seating limited to 125 guests and is first come, first served.
The United Palace is celebrating Black History Month and honoring African-American heritage with a performance by Peggi Blu and other guest artists, under the direction of United Palace Artistic Music Director Anwar Robinson. They will be performing songs such as “Believe In Yourself” (from The Wiz), “A Change Is Gon’ Come” (Sam Cooke), and “Takin’ It To The Street” (The Doobie Brothers).
The Monday night “Lobby Series” showcases local artists performing music, dance, spoken word, and other art forms for 100-125 guests in our Grand Foyer. With few stages uptown, the series is an important way for local artists to share work with neighbors and try out new material. Donations are appreciated and proceeds go to UPCA's programs.
