Dr Mark Spencer, an experienced and internationally respected botanist is returning to Coventry for another short series of critical plant walks within the Cathedral Quarter.
His expertise covers many disciplines including forensic botany, the plants of North-west Europe, invasive species and the history of botanical science. He also works globally as a seasoned writer, public speaker and television presenter. He'll be joining us to lead a critical plant walk that looks at domesticated/wild plants of the area, focusing on crop wild relatives and incidental ‘wild’ weeds.
Hand lenses will be available for each participant and will be sterilised before and after each walk.
The walk will begin and end at Coventry Cathedral and you can then visit Food Union and Coventry Cathedrals new ‘Live and Dye Garden’ and begin the process of making your own wild tincture.
These sessions will be limited to 10 people but we'll be running it twice throughout the day.
