Description
Kintsugi, is the Japanese art of repairing broken pottery with lacquer dusted or mixed with powdered gold dating back to the fifteenth century. As a philosophy, the precious veins of gold are there to emphasize that breaks have a philosophically-rich merit all of their own.
In an age that worships youth, perfection and the new, the art of Kintsugi retains a particular wisdom - as applicable to our own lives as it is to a broken bowl. The care and love expended on the shattered pots should lend us the confidence to respect what is damaged and scarred, vulnerable and imperfect - starting with ourselves and those around us.
This exceptional cast will apply the philosophy of treasuring scars and flaws to see the beauty in who we are, by working directly from ideas suggested by the audience to spontaneously create a unique comedy piece.
Thought-provoking, moving, and imperfect, this show is a must see.
