Description
Ottawa Showbox presentsJonathan Becker & The North Fields 'Sober Dawn' Album ReleaseJonathan Becker & The North Fields are thrilled to finally be releasing their first full length album, Sober Dawn. The Ottawa-based band with roots in folk, country, and punk has toured Canada extensively in 2015 and 2016, including performances at Ottawa Bluesfest and Cityfolk. After spending most of 2017 writing and recording, the band is ready to get back on the road. They will be touring Canada and the United States in support of this record.https://jonathanbecker.bandcamp.com/+Claude Munson (with full band)Ottawa's Claude Munson writes uninhibited impressionist-folk.Whether drenched in crystalline synths or stripped bare, Munson's songs tackle modern life and love with radical intimacy. His soaring, gritty tenor paints vivid pictures of hard promises and ecstatic joys: atmospheric narratives that unfold, Rorschach-like. https://claudemunson.bandcamp.com/+John Aaron CockburnJohn Aaron Cockburn is Juno award winning multi-instrumentalist, singer-songwriter, poet, band leader, composer and producer. He has been the band leader for the global music collective Little Suns for over a decade. He serves as collaborator both live and on record to his Uncle, Canadian folk music legend Bruce Cockburn. Exploration and conscious evolution are the primary motivators propelling John Aaron's work. He seeks to unite and expand, and encourages the probing of the emotional and spiritual depths of the human condition.https://johnaaroncockburn.bandcamp.com/releases-----------------Friday, July 27Babylon Nightclub$10 / 8pm doors / 19+ eventVisit Ottawa Showbox, Ottawa's #1 music resource: http://www.ottawashowbox.com/This venue is ground-level wheelchair accessible, including washrooms on the main floor with secured hand rails (not gender neutral). *Disclaimer* -- Attendees are expected to act with respect for equity and inclusiveness.
