Intro to Tapestry Weaving Workshop
Seven Shores Community Cafe
10 Regina St N, Waterloo, ON N2J 2Z8, Canada
Explore colour and geometric and organic form while designing and weaving your own 8 x 10 inch wall tapestry. This workshop will guide students through the warping of a basic frame loom and introduce them to techniques such as plain weave, soumak stitch, rya knots, and slit joins. I will teach foundational weaving skills and over the course of the workshop student will get a strong start on their first tapestry weaving. The aim of the workshop is for everyone to leave with a basic understanding of the tools, techniques and terminology of tapestry weaving and the confidence to continue exploring the craft on their own.
