Description
Beginners are welcome!
This workshop covers intermediate to advanced level techniques, but you will have one-to-one time with the instructor, and access to beginner-level content from previous classes.
In this workshop, you’ll learn about advanced USB attack tools & techniques, and follow along with our cat-shaped hacking platform (the Nugget) to create your own payloads! You’ll get to try out some awesome hacks like WiFi controlled data exfiltration, and will learn how to use the “hacker methodology” to create effective attacks.
You will also compete in a fun collaborative hacking challenge for prizes at the end!
Please bring a laptop and a USB type C cable.

About:
In this workshop you will:
Learn to use the Nugget, a cat-themed hacking tool!
Learn about common & advanced USB attack methods
Write your own keystroke injection payloads w/ DuckyScript
Learn how to run remote attacks over WiFi
Learn advanced data exfiltration techniques
Analyze real-world attack scenarios
Compete in a mini hackathon for prizes!

Time:
This 2 hour workshop consists of 2 parts, with an optional Hackathon at the end. There will be a break in between each.
*** Introduction to USB Attacks & the Hacker Methodology (1 Hour):
In the first half of the workshop, you'll learn about techniques & tools that hackers use to compromise computers over USB, and will become familiarized with the USB Nugget.
You’ll learn to write intermediate attack payloads & will try out some premade demos using a language called DuckyScript. You will also learn about high level topics like data exfiltration & reconnaissance, and learn how to craft effective attacks following the “hacker methodology”.
*** Advanced USB Attack Workshop (1 Hour):
In this part of the workshop, you’ll learn to write advanced data exfiltration scripts that communicate over WiFi, and explore other types of exfiltration methods. You’ll learn to use the web interface on your Nugget to write & deploy payloads from your mobile phone, and also learn to emulate different USB devices for various attack scenarios.
We’ll also cover a variety of general hacking techniques (like file manipulation, enumeration, and reconnaissance), and will look at how to use these in real-world attack scenarios. You will also be given resources & further payloads to explore on your own after the workshop.
*** Mini Hackathon (30 Minutes):
In the last 30 minutes, we'll also be hosting a mini hackathon! Small teams will compete to write attack payloads, and the most destructive / entertaining payloads will win a prize :)
You can check out a USB Nugget Payload Demo Here!
