Living Words' Susanna Howard and Oliver Senton have been chosen to share their pioneering way of working with people living with advanced dementias at the actor Alan Alda’s ‘Communicating Science’ department at Stony Brook University, New York. However, this trip has associated costs.
That's where Honey's Happening comes in. All profits from this performance will go towards getting Susanna and Oliver to New York.
Set in 1969, this 5-star reviewed commedy stars actress Fiona Coffey as Honey Childs, a surburban housewife. Honey has seen the New York 'happenings' and she is determined to hold one of her own, in a quest to bring about world peace.
Join Honey in her living room for cheese and pineapple, retro party games and her favourite easy listening LPs. With your help (and some home truths from her daughter, Barbara) will Honey be able to change the world?
This fun, immersive show received 4- and 5-star reviews across the board when it premiered at the Edinburgh Festival.
Come down to the Quarterhouse and support our local grassroots charity, Living Words and have a fabulous night too. Living Words writers and artists work one-to-one with people in local care homes who are experiencing dementia and feel isolated or disempowered.
