Description
Flora is the wine barrel-aged version of Florence (1915-1967), Edward’s sister as well as the name of our Farmstead® wheat ale. In honor of Florence, this grand cru special release of Flora was selected and then packaged from a single wine barrel of Florence—a barrel that conditioned optimally for nearly two years. Brewed in the Autumn of 2015, this beer has been further conditioning in the bottle since the beginning of April 2017. Extended bottle conditioning is a hallmark of our production—such signature process refinements are integral in assisting each beer to achieve to its highest potential. This has become the standard that consistently redefines our focus and guides the progressive vision for Hill Farmstead.
To make the sale of this new batch of Flora Cuvée as smooth as possible, we will use a randomly drawn registration and ticketed system. This method should help reduce parking issues, make travel arrangements easier for buyers, make it as fair as possible, and help improve the entire experience!
Each 750ml bottle is $84.85 which includes 6% Vermont sales tax and bottle deposit, plus a Universe service fee of $8.26.
Flora Cuvée is limited to a maximum of one bottle per winner, regardless of the number of entries.
Though a customer may enter multiple days in order to try and secure a single winning entry, there will not be the ability to win more than 1 bottle in total. A customer may enter for a single pick-up day or all four days. Each registration is a separate drawing for a specific pick-up day and will require a $2 non-refundable entry fee for each day entered.
All proceeds from entry fees will support the Center for an Agricultural Economy’s Place-Based Education program, strengthening and expanding food systems education for over 1,000 local students. These funds will support specific projects such as farm field trips, greenhouse establishment at area schools, professional development for educators, and a farm-to-schools food-sharing collaboration. The school/community connections fostered by Center for an Agricultural Economy are a vital force in achieving improved education, community health, and economic vitality. Center for an Agricultural Economy is a tax-exempt public charity; learn more at hardwickagriculture.org.
