I'm Elisa, the founder of elisaCOMPANY and I'm piloting a professional development series for Social Enterprises and Non-profits. First up: Governance 101.
I developed this class because I get excited about sharing knowledge with bold trailblazers and ambitious leaders. This class is intended for persons who are on a Board of Directors, have an interest in joining a Board, or who are interested in learning the fundamentals of how Boards govern. Whether you're an experienced or emerging professional, this workshop can help expand your skills on organizational leadership.
Developed from a combination of principles, best practices and lived experiences this 2-hour session explores the foundations of:
Organizational life cycles
Governance models
Roles and responsibilities of Directors
How to be an effective Director

ABOUT YOUR FACILITATOR (aka me, Elisa)
I'm a business consultant with a focus on leadership, operations and social inclusion. I completed undergraduate studies in Business Administration and a post-graduate program in Business Analysis.
I'm passionate about collaborating on initiatives that have the power to shape our communities. I've worked on projects for Fortune 500 companies, art galleries, independent creators, and not-for-profit organizations. Additionally, I currently serve as a Board Director and Chair of the Capital Development Committee at Nia Centre for the Arts.
ATTENDANCE FEE
This session is being offered at the introductory price of $25 CAD per person.
Tickets can be refunded up to 3 days after purchase. If you are unable to attend the class and wish to transfer your ticket to another person, let me know so that I may update attendance information.

By public transit: located near the intersection of Spadina Avenue and Sullivan Street, CSI is on the west side of Spadina and accessible by the 510 Spadina streetcar (Sullivan stop) in-between Queen Street and Dundas Street.
By vehicle: parking may be found on the northbound side of Spadina Avenue at 185-195 Spadina (outdoor, street level). Southbound parking is located in Indigo at 222 Spadina Avenue (indoor, underground).

The venue is wheelchair accessible and has both accessible and gender neutral washrooms.
Complimentary internet access (wi-fi), filtered drinking water, organic dairy (2% milk / 10% half & half cream), almond milk, locally made coffee (caffeinated, decaffeinated) and tea (caffeinated, decaffeinated) is available onsite.
