LIGHTNINGFACE
Directors: Brian Petsos (USA)
An origin story, of sorts--LIGHTNINGFACE stars Oscar Isaac as Basil Stitt, who in the aftermath of an inexplicable incident, decides to sequester himself inside his apartment, setting the stage for a profound transformation.
JOAN
Director: Nathan Pancione (USA)
A portrait of a woman whose grit and disposition conquer great adversity. At a young age, Joan always wanted a big family and a place on the ocean. By the age of 20 she was diagnosed with sarcoma and had to face hard choices. After 60 years, 22 surgeries and a beautiful life, she reflects on her incredible journey.
PINK BOY
Director: Eric Rockey (USA)
An intimate, 15-minute portrait of a gender-creative boy growing up in conservative rural Florida. Butch lesbian BJ successfully avoided dresses her entire life until she adopted Jeffrey, who to her shock, starts to dance in gowns and perform for his parents. As six-year-old Jeffrey increasingly wishes to dress up in public, BJ must navigate where it is safe for him, from school to a rodeo in Georgia to the ultimate holiday for a pink boy, Halloween.
ACCIDENTS, BLUNDERS AND CALAMITIES
Director: James Cunningham (USA)
A father possum reads a bed time story to his kids - an alphabet of the most dangerous animal of all - HUMANS!
THE DOGIST
Director: E.J. McLeavey-Fisher (USA)
A short documentary about Instagram canine photographer and author Elias Weiss Friedman aka The Dogist (@thedogist).
CUL-DE-SAC
Directors: Damon Russell (USA)
In the latest stunner by the team behind the Academy Award-winning short Curfew, a married couple's bubble of suburban normality is punctured when they find a surprise inside their toddler's teddy bear.
