Due to the popularity of Data Science Festival events, we are now allocating event tickets via a random ballot.
Those randomly selected and approved will then be e-mailed tickets for the event. If you do not receive an approval e-mail from us by Thursday the 5th October 2017 you have been unsuccessful in getting a ticket for this event.

The Data Science Festival is the first of its kind as the only community led, free to attend Data Science Festival in the UK.

Prior to this he built and lead the global data analytics team at Skype, managing one of the world’s largest data sets and exploring communication habits of people all around the world. His experience spans data architecture through to data science and culture, and he is passionate about using data and insights to create a company culture focused on innovation and growth. Host: David Loughlan - David Loughlan is the founder of Data Idols and the Data Science Festival. He spent his early career as a contract database administrator, delivering projects for some of the UK’s leading companies. At Data Idols, he now uses his unique background across hands on tech and hiring, to help organisations apply Data Engineering and Data Science techniques to improve the delivery of data projects, through consulting, recruitment, training and events.
Panelist: David Abelman - Part of the Product Analytics team at Facebook in London.
Panelist: Tom Ewing - Tom Ewing is Principal Data Scientist for DfT. He has 20 years’ experience in government in a variety of data, analytical and digital roles and currently relishing the challenge of kickstarting the DfT’s data science capability and making the UK the worldwide leader in digital transport.
Panelist: Magda Piatowska - Magda Piatkowska is the Lead Data Scientist at the BBC, previously she has held positions as Head of Data Science at The Telegraph and Lead Data Scientist at Channel 4. Magda specialises designing and delivering data systems ,whilst forming and managing teams of data scientists to unlock value from data. Away from the office Magda is a keen ultra runner and strong supporter of females rocking the world of technology!
