CURTIS ON TOUR with Violist Roberto Diaz and Curtis Students
Saint James Place
352 Main St, Great Barrington, MA 01230, USA
Distinguished alumni and faculty performers with international touring careers join with students about to emerge onto the world stage for an incredible evening of live string music! Internationally reknowned Violist Roberto Díaz ('84) combines an active performing career with leadership of Curtis. Violinist Bella Hristova ('08) has been called “a player of impressive power and control” (Washington Post). They are joined by Cellist Timotheos Petrin (’17) and Violinist Maria Ioudenitch for a program of string quartets by Ravel and Shostakovich and more.
The program (subject to change) includes Duo in G major, K. 423 by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, Quartet No. 8 in C minor, Op. 110 by Dmitri Shostakovich and Quartet in F major by Maurice Ravel.
This performance recognizes and honors The Fitzpatrick Family for their generous support of the restoration of Saint James Place. Their commitment makes possible the engineering feat that the classical music presented in Saint James Place' restored Sanctuary space is comparable to the original sound for which the music was written.
Curtis on Tour is the Nina von Maltzahn global touring initiative of the Curtis Institute of Music.
