Following on from her Crafty Culture at Home videos on how to start with crochet for absolute beginners, artist and creative practitioner Barbara Touati-Evans will take you further on your crochet journey with a series of videos. This will provide you with a good foundation and space to explore your creativity.
Session 3: Crocheting treble stitches in a row and change colours (make a stripy bow)
Session 4: Crocheting in a circle/intro to freestyle crochet (super useful for all sorts of projects, big and small, from flowers to rugs)
Session 5: Crocheting "granny squares", traditional method for making cushions and blankets and lots more.

What you need: a couple of balls of chunky or super chunky wool, a crochet hook (5/6/7 mm for chunky, 8/9/10mm for super chunky) and scissors.

Tutor: Barbara Touati-Evans
Barbara Touati-Evans is a visual artist who uses the traditional craft of crochet to engage in diverse disciplines such as mathematics, meditation, feminism and neuroscience. She creates sensory sculptures and installation designed to collide different realms and contexts. She has been a tutor at the West End Centre for ten years.

This class is delivered using pre-recorded video that is available to you on demand, at a time that suits you. You will have access to these resources from the week of 18 May 2020 until 31 July 2020. If you are booking prior to the week of 18 May you will be notified via email when this content is available. If you are booking after the week of 18 May you will have access to this content straight away.
Each video for this class is designed to be stand alone. You don’t need to complete them in any particular order. There are three video files in total, each running for approximately 15 mins each.
To access your class content you will need a device with an internet connection and speakers – a computer, laptop, phone or tablet should do the job. The content will be hosted on a private webpage. We will email you a link to the webpage to give you access, so please make sure your email address is correct at time of booking If you have any issues accessing your class our team is on standby to help. An optional private Facebook group has also been set up for participants in this class to give you somewhere to talk to each other and share your work.
