ABOUT THE ARTISTS
Dec Pierce's Block Rockin Beats
Dec Pierce’s Block Rockin’ Beats first hit Irish airwaves in 2018, and its combination of classic 90’s dance hits, timeless R&B and boundless hip-hop was an instant success to Irish audiences. In recent times, Pierce has taken the show to the masses, with live shows for thousands in venues up and down the country. Most recently, he headlined the Friday night of Kaleidoscope Festival in Blessington, Co. Wicklow.
The live show is a performance of the world’s biggest dance anthems featuring a DJ set, live tribal drummers & special guests. A raw, energetic live set including tracks from Underworld, Faithless, The Prodigy, Chemical Brothers and many more. Block Rockin’ Beats is a show where rave meets rock music. A show where both music styles unite for one unmissable performance. Expect songs such as No Good (Start the dance) alongside Smells Like Teen Spirit and Beastie Boys’ Sabotage.
King Kong Company
The story so far: King Kong Company are a band from Waterford, five blokes and a Boxhead. In 2011 they started putting out one video a month, put on the first gig in 2012 and played Indiependence on the back of a truck at 2am to 20 people. Soon after Body & Soul heard a track and booked them for an early Sunday evening at Electric Picnic where they got lucky and played to, maybe, thousands. Thinking they had now made it, they tried to get a Dublin gig and, a well known, but won’t be named, Dublin venue turned them down saying they’d be lucky to get 100 people to it. But the Sugar Club offered them a gig, and it sold out. Then the Button Factory sold out (5 times so far), The Academy (like 4 times) and they sold out The Olympia, but only the one time (they’re not The Script).
One of the most enthralling live acts in recent times, HamsandwicH are well known for their incendiary live performances which has put them right at the top of the live acts to see today. With the combination of Niamh Farrell's powerful yet sweet vocal and Podge McNamee's juxstaposing baritone the band are given it's signature calling card. If ever there was a band to feed off their audience it is HamsandwicH. Each show is bona fide celebration with everything from balloons and confetti to their unique crowd interaction on display.
