In addition to partnering with The Vixen for the Black Girl Magic premiere over DragCon weekend, we, CircuitMOM, will be making our LA debut as well with Blaque Light! Blaque Light is the dance party that will follow Black Girl Magic on May 14th at The Globe Theater from 11pm to 4am and will feature the stellar DJ talents of Derek Monteiro and Chris Royal.
Derek Monteiro - In the mid 90's, Derek Monteiro was fortunate enough to hear Felix Da Housecat drop an amazing house set that changed his life. Walking into the club, there was an unexplainable energy in the air. The music was a solid kick to the soul. Bass lines were funky and fresh like a disco night at studio 54. Bass so deep and hard you would lose your breath. Vocals that gave you intense emotions like a slap to the face. You could feel your heart thump through your walk. Dancing was not an option; you were paralyzed in heaven. Today, Derek Monteiro infuses that experience in every set he DJ’s. Through a lot of hard work and persistence, he’s been able to steadily become part of the music scene in the United States with a few gigs Internationally. Holding down many residencies in Los Angeles, Monteiro strong resume shows his range in musical taste. Having worked with CAA, Mercedes Benz, MAC Makeup, and many celebrity private parties. Recently opening for heavy hitter djs like Felix Da Housecat and Derrick Carter, to numerous charitable causes, and backyard boogies. Once a professional backup dancer, Monteiro knows how to get your soul moving. Whether playing a warehouse party or high end event, the message is always good music that nurtures the soul.

Chris Royal Formerly known as 'Dj Christopher', Chris Royal made waves in 2020 debuting as a tribal and circuit house DJ, in Atlanta, Georgia USA at a primetime event, known as ‘Anubis Party'. Chris is well-traveled, having been to over 15 countries to experience mainstream music events and circuit festivals which inspired him to become a DJ. His’ style is influenced by the sounds of Dirty Tribal, Big Room, Electro, Latin and Classic House.
Chris has headlined at parties underground, after-hours, in night clubs and primetime events in the USA, Mexico and Brazil during major holidays and pride seasons on a recurring basis.
In addition to being proficient as a DJ, Chris is also mastering the craft of musical production, with formal releases scheduled for the later part of 2022.
