Meet the Instructor
Bakithi Kumalo first discovered his affinity for bass at age fourteen when he toured with his uncle’s band. While working as a session musician in the ‘70s and ‘80s, his impressive bass chops landed him a spot creating iconic fretless bass runs on Paul Simon’s 1986 album Graceland. He has worked with an incredibly diverse collection of artists including Cyndi Lauper, Gloria Estefan, Joan Baez, and Josh Groban, and has produced eight solo albums. Bakithi’s lively teaching approach and infectious sense of humor will help you create your own distinctly “Kourageous” voice.
