Audible’s Spoken Worlds: To The Woman marks the launch of Scarlett Curtis’ new, Audible Original podcast, To The Woman and will make history as the first solely female-led event hosted at the men’s only members club.
Hosted by “the voice of Gen Z feminism” (Evening Standard, 2018) and Sunday Times best-seller Scarlett Curtis, Audible’s Spoken Worlds: To The Woman welcomes an exceptional panel of remarkable women from the podcast series including June Sarpong, Lisa Luxx and Sangeeta Pillai amongst others. Guests will be asked to write their own letters and treated to an exclusive first listen of letters which have been written and narrated for Audible’s To The Woman podcast. The evening will conclude with a panel discussion, audience Q&A and a chance for attendees to write and share their own letters to the women they’re thankful for.
All proceeds from ticket sales for Spoken Worlds Presents: To The Woman will be donated to Bloody Good Period which works to help end period poverty in the UK.
Presented by Scarlett Curtis and Produced by multi-award-winning documentary maker Hana Walker-Brown. To The Woman celebrates exceptional women of the world through a series of letters to mothers, life-long friends and the women we are yet to meet. The series is launching exclusively on Audible on International Women’s Day (8th March 2019).
Each episode begins with a prompt: “To the woman …” followed by five themes –“To the woman that raised me,” “To the woman who chose me,” “To the woman that changed me,” “To the woman that I am,” “To the women still to come.” What begins as a simple prompt becomes a larger narrative of love, friendship and a celebration of women. Contributors include Dolly Alderton, Juno Dawson, June Sarpong, Gemma Cairney and Suki Waterhouse amongst others.
