An Evening of Blues and Gospel VIII
St. Paul's Centre
62 Peter St N, Orillia, ON L3V 4Y7, Canada
Mariposa in Concert’s (MIC) wildly popular Blues & Gospel Show returns Feb. 9, 2019 with an impressive lineup of all-star vocalists and musicians assembled, arranged and directed by Orillia’s own JUNO award winning producer, Lance Anderson.
“This is our 8th annual Blues & Gospel Show and it’s a sell-out every year,” MIC Committee Chairman Robert Rountree said. “Our 2018 show was at St. Paul’s Centre for the first time and it was the largest crowd we’ve ever had.”
Winner and multiple nominee for the Maple Blues Piano/Keyboard Player of the Year, Lance Anderson, is musical arranger and director of the show. This year, JUNO award winning singer Harrison Kennedy is returning to headline, along with vocalist Michelle White and, as is his custom, Lance will showcase a young artist, keyboard wizard Jesse Whiteley. There will be stellar rhythm section with drummer Gary Craig (Blackie and the Rodeo Kings, Colin Linden) and legendary bassist Dennis Pendrith (Vinyl Café, Bruce Cockburn, David Wilcox).
“Lance Anderson’s musical connections run deep in the industry and he always assembles a stellar group of artists,” MIC Chairman Rountree added. “We sell out this show every year and people are well-advised to pick up their tickets as soon as possible.”
