Vendors of the Afro-Utah FestivalThank you for submitting your vendor application. We appreciate your interest and are pleased to inform you that we have received your application and Payment. Our team will review it thoroughly to ensure it meets the criteria for vendor selection. This year, we are accepting applications from vendors in the following categories: Bring Your Equipment (Canopy, Table, Chair)
Food Truck Vendors: $275.00 + Fees
Arts/Crafts/Fashion Vendors (Bring your canopy, table, and chairs): $100.00 + Fees
Business & Service Provider Vendors (Bring your canopy, table, and chairs): $100.00 + Fees
Community Organization Vendors (Bring your canopy, table, and chairs): $65.00 + Fees
GKFOLKS to Provide Canopy, Table & Chairs for an Additional Fee
Arts/Crafts/Fashion Vendors: $170.00 + Fees
Business & Service Provider Vendors: $170.00 + Fees
Community Organization Vendors: $160.00 + Fees
Please note that we are not accepting regular food vendors this year. Ensure your application falls into one of the abovementioned categories. Once reviewed, we will notify you of the status. If approved, we will invite you to proceed with payment. We look forward to reviewing your application. As a vendor, you will provide:
Items to sell, either food or non-food
Staffing for your booth
Promotion of the event to your customer database/list
Napkins, plates, serving utensils, and serving gloves, if needed
Your business logo
Compliance with Salt Lake County Environmental Services Department health codes
General Liability Insurance*
A handwashing station (for food vendors)
Decor for your booth
An extension cord
Your canopy, table, and chairs
*Note: You must provide a copy of your General Liability Insurance to our organization by or before August 6, 2022. We, the organizers, will provide the following for an additional payment:
One (1) 8’x10' Area Tent without a wall
One (1) 6' table and two (2) folding chairs
Prints of the Business Name and Booth # for your tent
Basic electrical power (Additional Payment Required)
Booth Information – All You Need to Know
Load-in: Detailed instructions will be emailed on July 15th.
Check-in: Upon arrival, all registered vendors must check in at the registration area to be assigned booth space.
Taxes, Licenses, and Permits
Vendors must display all required licenses, certifications, and permits at their stations.
The collection and filing of all related taxes are the sole responsibility of each vendor.
The Salt Lake City, Utah sales tax rate is 7.75%. All vendors must provide the Festival Management with a Utah State Business Tax License Number.
Food Truck VendorsAll Food Truck Vendors MUST HAVE A VALID FOOD HANDLER’S PERMIT & SPECIAL EVENT PERMIT by submitting the form personally at least two weeks before the event date to avoid a late fee. Visit https://www.slc.gov/eventpermits/ for more information.IMPORTANT: Before applying for a Special Event Permit, please ensure you have the following:
At least one person with a food handler card or food safety manager certification.
The complete menu, including beverages.
Booth structure.
Equipment needed.
Plans for handwashing.
Methods to maintain hot and cold product temperatures.
Plans for food transport and storage.
Equipment cleaning plans.
Photo Release: Participation in the festival implies consent for you, your volunteers, and staff to be photographed or videotaped for promotional or news media purposes at the discretion of the Afro Utah Festival.Staff Wristbands: Given during vendor check-in. Food booths may receive up to four wristbands and non-food vendors up to two. Wristbands must be worn at all times. Cancellations: No refunds are available for cancellations three weeks before the event. Vendors will be eligible for a refund if the organizer cancels the festival due to unforeseen circumstances. Weather: In the event of cancellation due to severe weather, credits or refunds will not be granted.FESTIVAL TRASH BINS: Waste materials must not contain Excluded Waste as defined by applicable laws.
