ACRONYM presents: From Venice to Vienna
Holy Trinity Lutheran Church
3 W 65th St
ACRONYM presents our favorite music from our first five instrumental recordings: works by Priuli, Valentini, Bertali, Poglietti, Capricornus, Krieger, Pezel, Drese, and Rosenmueller.
This program explores the cross-fertilization of musical styles between the Venetian Hofkapellmeisters to the Holy Roman Emperor in Vienna, and the German and Austrian composers who spread this Italian compositional idiom throughout Europe, including returning it to Venice a half-century later.
