Accord Ensemble wraps up its third season with a concert to stimulate your senses. Something Rich and Strange features the nature-inspired set "There is Sweet Music Here" by Stephen Chatman as well as Edward Elgar’s stunning "Lux Aeterna." We also present a new commission, "Love Letters to the Streets," by Edmonton composer Trent Worthington in collaboration with the Breath in Poetry Collective, made possible by a Make Something Oliver grant. Edmonton’s young adult community chamber choir will be joined by additional singers, as well as oboist Ruth Denton, pianist Rachel Stelnicki, and organist Tammy-Jo Mortensen. We are excited to announce this concert is also part of Nextfest 2016 along with, in conjunction with the University of Alberta's Department of Music, doubling as the first of two doctoral recitals led by our Artistic Director, Stuart Sladden.
