This November marks the Beatles’ 50th anniversary of The White Album. Kick off the celebration with a screening of the classic movie “A Hard Day’s Night,” which captured all the magic of Beatlemania in 1964. Beatles tribute band Strawberry Fields will enure we still feel that magic by playing songs that span the Beatles entire catalogue.
This movie is the Beatles’ feature film debut, and one of the greatest rock-and-roll comedy adventures ever. It pioneers the just-left-of-reality style of mock-documentary that became a staple of music biopics as fame takes John, Paul, George, and Ringo by storm.
The band Strawberry Fields features true look-alike performers, handpicked from hundreds of auditionees, who speak in Liverpudlian accents and play on the vintage musical instruments Beatles fans have come to recognize (the bassist is even left-handed, just like Paul!). It is as close to a real Beatles concert as you can get. The band is known for its 18-year weekly Beatles Brunch at B.B. Kings before it closed earlier this year and for recreating the Beatles fabled 1965 Shea Stadium concert for its 40th anniversary in 2005.

"Movies at the Palace" take place at the stunning United Palace, formerly the Loew's 175th Street Theatre, that first opened as a deluxe movie theatre and vaudeville house in 1930. We honor that past while reinventing the movie-going experience by pairing classic titles with pre-show entertainment and expert Q&A’s. Learn more about the Palace’s past as a Wonder Theatre and recent cinematic rebirth, including Lin-Manuel Miranda’s 2016 donation of a DCP projector, here.
