As a registered 501C3 charity, 100% of the proceeds will be donated by the Blacktop Saints to help support families in our community, including organizations such as The Great Lakes Burn Camp and Great Lakes Center for Autism Treatment and Research.
Registration and package pick-up will begin at 9AM on the day of the event at Zeigler Motorsports in Kalamazoo, MI. Pre-registration is encouraged in order to secure your spot in the ride and will include a ride shirt if registered before July 4, 2018. The cost for registration is $25 per rider. This cost also includes entry to the final stop of the ride at JB’s Whiskey Old Style Grill for the concert headlined by Detroit rock band Sponge.
The ride will have three stops, which will each include different door prizes and 50/50 drawings. The first two stops will take place for about an hour each. During these two stops, those who wish to join the ride may register and do so. The total distance for the ride will be about 115 miles from start to end. Police officers will provide blockers at large intersections, along with members of BSRC set-up to block intersections as well.
The ride will conclude at JB’s Whiskey Old Style Grill, which will be the third and final stop. Entertainment at this stop will include music from three different bands, including BoneHawk, Handsome Pete, and the headliner, Sponge. JB’s will also have food vendors and an outdoor, full service bar!
For those who are interested in attending the concert portion and not the ride itself, the cost will be $15 per person.

Concert Line Up and Set Times
5 PM – Handsome Pete (Lansing, MI) https://www.reverbnation.com/handsomepete1
Handsome Pete is one of Michigan's hardest working, heavy hitting rock and roll bands, voted number one in their genre on Reverb Nation. Formed in 2015 as a gigging cover band, the group quickly developed a taste for more. Coming from various musical backgrounds, together they molded their unique sound forming a mesh of 90s alternative and hard rock.
7:30 PM – BoneHawk (Kalamazoo, MI) https://www.bonehawkriffs.com/
BoneHawk plays heavy, fuzz soaked, rock 'n' roll music with a mind toward harmony and melody. Influences include Thin Lizzy, Iron Maiden, Black Sabbath, the Jimi Hendrix Experience and Pentagram. Can you dig it?
10 PM – Sponge (Detroit, MI) http://www.spongetheband.com
Sponge has proven to be one of the Motor City's heaviest hitters
after gaining international notoriety with their debut album "Rotting
Piñata” (Sony). Emerging from Detroit with hits like "Plowed" and "Molly
(16 Candles)" Sponge received massive airplay on radio stations from
coast to coast and were in heavy rotation on MTV. Both “Plowed” and
“Molly” hit #5 on Billboard’s Modern Rock Charts, catapulting “Rotting
Piñata” to Gold, and ultimately Platinum status.
Sponge's follow up CD, the critically lauded “Wax Ecstatic”
(Columbia) scored additional top ten Billboard hits including "Wax
Ecstatic" and "Have You Seen Mary?" The band’s music was also featured
in popular movies “The Craft,” “Chasing Amy,” “Mall Rats” and “Empire
Records.” Sponge’s star continued to rise with network appearances on
“The Late Show with David Letterman” and the “Conan O’Brien Show.”
Sponge’s subsequent releases “New Pop Sunday,” “For All The
Drugs in The World,” “The Man,” “Galore Galore,” and “Destroy the Boy,”
showcased the band’s swirling sonic attack, rooted in 70's glam and of
course, the Motor City influences of The Stooges, The MC5 and Motown-but
still sounding distinctly like no one else.
“Plowed” continues to be the band’s signature rock track,
having been spotlighted on Guitar Hero’s “Warriors of Rock – 90’s Rock
Track Pack” – and on the Paper Jamz Guitar Series 2, in addition to the
soundtrack for the Gerard Butler surf movie “Chasing Mavericks.”
