Description
It’s back! As part of this year's LA Design Festival, we're getting ready for our eighth annual Design-n-Dim Sum bike ride with Flying Pigeon on Sunday, June 26th for another day of studio visits, biking and more bao! This year's route begins at the studio of extremely talented artist and furniture designer Matt Gagnon, followed by a stop at landscape architect, urban planner and conservation advocate Mia Lehrer's new LA River digs, and a final stop before dim sum at what Bloomberg recently called "the most interesting gallery in LA right now," 356 Mission. As the brainchild of artist Laura Owens, the space acts as "an informal community clubhouse, event space, and locus for dynamic exhibitions of artists young and old." Also housed in the gallery is Ooga Booga's second outpost, Ooga Twooga.
We’ll be meeting at bike shop Flying Pigeon in Highland Park at 10:30am and will be on the road by 11am to head out to the first studio.
