1-800-HENNABLING provides participants the chance to learn about the background of henna throughout history, including culture and materials, how to use a henna cone, and how to draw henna designs. This is an opportunity for youth in the culturally dense Scarborough community to appreciate a part of the neighbourhood’s culture, as they learn the skill of a traditional art form.
ABOUT THE FACILITATORFarheen and Amreen Kadwa make up the artist duo Kadwa Twins’ Henna. The 23 year old twin sisters seek to educate and empower people through cultural henna art. They are extremely dedicated to youth and community development, especially through art and culture. Amreen and Farheen express their artistic selves through modest fashion and new trends. They take bookings for bridal henna, party henna, and corporate events.
