NOTE: due to the move to 192 Spadina - which was formerly occupied by STEAMLabs - we are currently using an Epilog laser left to us in the space until January. This is your chance to learn how to laser cut using a VERY fancy Laser, including cutting acrylic and plastics.
We will resume normal classes teaching how to use our Lasersaur - a highly capable and safe 100-watt open source carbon dioxide laser cutter - in January.
This workshop is suitable for the absolute beginner and guides you through preparing your own vector graphic design file in Inkscape and setting up the machine for optimal laser cutting from start to finish. We will look at examples of projects completed with our laser cutter and discuss best practices and tips.
Please bring a laptop with the latest version of Inkscape already installed and working (https://inkscape.org/en/download/). A mouse is recommended.
