2020 10th Anniversary Terroir Run
251 Closson Rd, Hillier, ON K0K 2J0, Canada
It's the 10th anniversary of the best darn fun run in Canada! The Terroir Run takes participant's just over 10km (10.8km approximately) along country roads past vineyards, lavender fields and farmland. The run begins at Rosehall Run Winery at 10AM on Saturday, May 30th.
Our runners are encouraged to put some
ZEST into the run by dressing in costume (there are prizes) with the ultimate reward - an amazing locally sourced lunch prepared by Karin Desveaux, Culinary Instructor at Loyalist College, her colleagues and students AND Chef Albert Ponzo from The Royal Hotel. Lunch is served at the finish line at The Old Third Vineyard and includes wines, beer, cider , spirits and non-alcoholic options from our run partners! The post run lunch and beverages, along with an AWESOME runners kit are included in the registration fee. If you want your friends and family to join you they can purchase a post-run lunch - quantities are limited though and sell out fast.
The Terroir Run run is
not a timed run so if you're coming expecting a race - this is not the experience for you. We do recognize the first 3 female and 3 male runners to
complete the run with a complimentary run registration for the following year.
100% of the run's proceeds are contributed to The ROC for their after school food and taxi program - giving County kids mentorship and programs in a safe environment that encourages youth success and contributes to a healthier community in Prince Edward County. Last year we raised $5000 for The ROC. We are aiming to raise $10,000 in 2020 to celebrate our 10th Terroir Run!
We offer shuttles from the The Old Third to the starting point of the run - Rose Hall Winery. Registration opens at 8:30 AM and the shuttles run from 9:15 AM to 9:45 AM. This enables you to leave your car at the finish line.
New for 2020 - we are hosting a pre-run dinner on Friday, May 29th at Sand & Pearl Oyster Bar. We will be having a good old fashioned County Fish Fry featuring fresh, local lake fish with pickled jalapeno tartar, Ontario fries and Spring Harvest coleslaw. They'll be serving up their favourite dessert meringue, local Rhubarb compote, whipped cream and backyard mint. Dinner will be served on the front porch and the campfire will be roaring. Dinner includes a County wine or beer. Additional beverages are at your own expense. There is no discounted rate for dietary needs - this is a fundraiser.
Runners will be able to pick up their registration kits on Friday night at Sand & Pearl Oyster Bar from 6:30 PM to 8:30 PM or at The Old Third on the Saturday from 8:30 AM to 9:30 AM.
Please note that we
