Description
How do you deal with police brutality? Through comedy of course! These comics have stared in the face of racism and made it laugh. You won't want to miss this edgy show where no one is white!
Host Latoya Shariff Wynn was born in Springfield. She studied Improv at Second City Chicago, then moved to San Francisco looking for her California dream and ended up at Mutiny Radio as the co host of the Alta-Cast every Wednesday from noon-2pm where she shares her unique political ideas.
Reid Clark-
Reid Clark gave up his right testicle for comedy. Literally. He talks about it in his set, it’s funny yet uncomfortable like a lot of Reid’s humor. His comedy has been described as dark, blue, and political, with elements of musicality and improvisation. Reid has been doing comedy for 5 years but has been performing his whole life. He has opened for Alonzo Bodden, Neal Brennan, and Trevor Noah at Dead Crow Comedy Room in his home town of Wilmington, North Carolina. Reid also has improv, sketch and writing experience. Reid has written original stage and screen plays and has written jokes for actor Orlando Jones. Reid has written, directed and performed for music videos that have been in film festivals. Reid has starred in the film Frat Brothers available on Netflix. He has also been the lead in an episode of Fatal Encounters on Discovery ID. Over the past few months Reid has been traveling doing comedy in Denver, San Antonio and currently in Washington DC. Reid has been in the Cape Fear Comedy Festival, a three time finalist in Port City’s Top Comic and a finalist this year of the Funniest In South Texas Comedy Competition at Laugh Out Loud Comedy Club in San Antonio.
Erik Escobar- Described as hilariously witty by most and "demented" by his 4th grade teacher, Erik Escobar is a comic that performs all throughout the US at clubs, colleges, and festivals both independently, as a part of the Almost Asian Comedy Tour, and opening for acts such as WWE’s Rob Van Dam and Seinfeld’s Jerry Seinfeld. Credits include NBC's Last Comic Standing, VH1's Walk of Shame Shuttle, Buzzfeed, and the upcoming documentary Where Have You Gone, Lou Dimaggio? You can also check out his Spokane, Washington based upcoming series, Content, at Instagram.com/enjoyCONTENT. His quick delivery and awkward edginess has made him a rising act you will not want to miss. He currently resides in Los Angeles, California with his dog, Rancor, and can be seen (most)every Friday at LA's The Improv Space Theatre with his improv team, Bankroll, or throughout the country at comedy clubs and in the audience at independent wrestling promotions.
James Barela- Portland comedy stalwart, James Barela, metes out his comedy in a visceral exploration of turbulent sexuality, lurid cautionary tales, Mexican quirks, and psychedelic cosmic wall-banging. The son of a palm reader and a sheet metal worker in Oklahoma, Barela lived in New York City for several years before settling in Portland. Delivered with a teddy bear's likability, James Barela's comedy will bring you into his unique and vulgar perspective.
