Description
Did you know...
Human Trafficking is a $32 billion a year industry and a form of modern-day slavery that subjects women, children and men to force, fraud or coercion for the purpose of commercial sexual exploitation or forced labor.
More than 75% of women in the sex trade were sexually abused as children.
90% of women want to leave the sex trade but don’t have access to job training, counseling or treatment.
Rethreaded's mission is to unravel the effects of the sex trade by fighting business with business on a global and local level. We provide safe, viable and dignity-giving work to survivors of the sex trade allowing them to be who they were created to be.
We invite you to join us in the fight for freedom by helping break the cycle of the sex trade.
Mukti, which means freedom in Bengali, is our primary fundraising event of the year. 400 leaders from the Jacksonville community come to enjoy an evening of shopping (Rethreaded’s Pop-up Store + Silent Auction), dining and dancing while raising money to support our Survivor Advocate Program, providing survivors with case management, mental health counseling, crisis counseling and weekly classes.
This year, the event will be hosted at the beautiful and newly renovated space, The Glass Factory, which was built in 1936 by Henry Klutho in downtown Jacksonville.
